Hey everybody, if you’ve been wonderin why its been a little quite round here i shall tell you…
Well June was a great month, as some of you may know i play guitar for the ridiculously talented Findlay Brown, i been playin with him since November last year and become great friends with him and the rest of the band in the process. He’s in my top friends and i strongly suggest you check out his music…
This June we embarked on an 11 date tour of the US driving coast to coast in a van playing some amazing places and gettin into all sorts of trouble. Highlights include:
Gettin spat on by a crack addict in San Fransico.
Almost dying in Colorado when me and Fin decided to go White Water Tubing in a fast moving river out of season and off route.
Driving from L.A to San Fran with the Pacific Ocean on one side and the biggest mountains i’ve ever seen on the other.
Seeing my good friend Tommy Longmate in Chicago, it had been truely ages.
Spending a very hungover morning workin out where the hell the van keys had gone, havin to get a new set driven over to us, only to find them 3 days later in someone’s suitcase.
Oh yeh and most importantly the music… The gigs were fantastic, some real special moments on stage and very well recieved thank you America & Canada.
So that was June….
July saw me get some very good news, James & Allison at “The Guitar Label” asked me to record another album for them which was somethin i was really hopin to hear, so now project second album is in full flow…
I have been writtin alot of songs whilst out on the road giggin with Earl Thomas, Findlay Brown and also my own shows and have enough for the next record. So i’m goin to the Cotswolds to a lovely residential studio for 11 days to lock myself away with a few friends and produce what will hopefully be a great record. So now i am demoing, ironin out the creases and puttin a few choice creases back in and practicin my elbows off to make this album really great. I’ll be keepin a video diary while i’m there and postin it about the internet, i hear thats the thing to do, so when im old and lost my mind i can look back on it and think “oh yeh, that was the second album, what fun we had…”
It will be out before the end of the year so… watch this space cos i’m back, i’m 27 now, i’m not dead yet and i got a fire in my soul that is gonna come out all over a mixin desk and some microphones.
I hope this message finds you all well and hopefully see you all at some of the forthcoming gigs, especially…
